Lochearnhead is situated in the heart of Scotland, in the newly formed Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. It is a renowned centre for watersports including waterskiing (with 2 schools on the loch), kayaking, Canadian canoes and dinghy sailing.

In addition to watersports, the area has wonderful walks for all levels of fitness and experience: Munros, Corbetts, long distance cross country routes or simple strolls by the Loch-side or River Earn. Also the Trossachs, loch Lomond and Glencoe are within easy distance of the Hotel.

The area is also well supplied with access to some wonderful golf courses - 32 within a two hour drive. The courses vary in their challenges but all share the same magnificent scenery found in this part of Scotland. A wonderful example of this is the nearby St Fillans Golf Club.

Fishing enthusiasts will be delighted with the salmon, sea trout and brown trout to be had in the area: both the Loch and River Earn offer fine fishing and of course the River Tay is one of the principal salmon rivers in Europe. The owners of the hotel will be pleased to help you with permits.

There are many cycling routes in the area ranging froma a 15 mile circular tour of Loch Earn to a challenging route covering Glen Ogle, Glen Lochay and Glen Lyon (approximately 45 miles of tremendous scenery).

For the less active there are plenty of other attractions in the area:

See how The Famous Grouse Scotch Whisky is made (and perhaps have just a wee dram) at the nearby Glenturret Distillery;

Find out the real story of Rob Roy MacGregor, whose burial place is only a couple of miles from Lochearnhead.

Visit the magnificent Falls of Leny - through this narrow pass the river foams as it carries its waters on its journey from the highlands to the Lowlands.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Lochearnhead Hotel.
